Routes axed after Norwich Airport fee hike

A 67 per cent increase in passenger fees at Norwich Airport is being blamed for two routes being axed by Thomson. The charter holiday firm announced that it is scrapping its winter flights to Gran Canaria and Tenerife after deeming that they are no longer commercially viable. Observers had warned that a decision to raise Norwich's Airport Development Fee from £3 to £5 could result in lower demand as passengers opt to fly from London Stansted instead.
